Lectors

Lectors in the Catholic Church are appointed members of the congregation who proclaim the Word of God during Mass and other liturgical celebrations. Their primary role is to read the Scripture passages excluding the Gospel with clarity, reverence, and understanding, so that the faithful can fully receive and reflect on God’s message. Lectors may also lead the Prayers of the Faithful and assist in other liturgical readings when required. Beyond the act of reading, their ministry is a service of faith, calling them to prepare spiritually and honour the importance of God’s Word in the life of the Church.
